A drone carrying an anti-tank mine was neutralised in a border village in Sumy region
In a border town in the Sumy region, National Police bomb disposal experts defused an unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with an anti-tank mine. This was reported by the Sumy region police.
The report of the dangerous find came from a local resident who discovered the drone on his property. After contacting the police, the applicant was given detailed instructions on how to act safely, and the bomb disposal service was immediately dispatched to the scene.
During the inspection, experts determined that the drone was equipped with an anti-tank mine containing more than six kilograms of explosive material. In the event of an explosion, this ammunition could have caused serious damage to the residential building and threatened people's lives.
Explosives experts removed the dangerous device and destroyed it by controlled detonation in a specially designated safe place.
The police note that such deadly finds are increasingly being recorded in border communities in the Sumy region. Russian troops are using drones as a means of damaging civilian infrastructure and intimidating the civilian population.
Law enforcement officers once again urge citizens not to touch, move or attempt to examine suspicious objects themselves. It is necessary to move to a safe distance and immediately report the find by calling 102.
