Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that grants servicemen the right to guaranteed leave.
The President of Ukraine has signed a law that grants military personnel the right to a guaranteed 15-day leave, restores an additional 14 days for combatants, and provides for educational leave for contract soldiers under the "18–24" program.
An explanation of the law's provisions was published by Colonel Pavlo Palisa, Deputy Head of the Office of the President.
Main changes:
- Guaranteed 15 days. Every serviceman has the right to a guaranteed part of the annual main leave lasting 15 days. The remaining 15 days are granted depending on the unit's capabilities.
- 14 days for combatants. Participants in hostilities will again have the right to an additional leave of 14 days, which was not in effect during martial law.
- Educational leave. Contract soldiers under the "18–24" program who are pursuing education will now have the right to leave for exams.
«I also remind you that the law comes into force one month after its publication», — summarized Pavlo Palisa.
As reported by ArmyInform, the Verkhovna Rada voted for a bill that stipulates that 15 out of 30 days of annual main leave for servicemen are mandatory.
