Ukraine proposes a leaders' meeting with the participation of Erdogan and Trump
During negotiations in Istanbul, the Ukrainian delegation proposed to hold a meeting of the leaders of Ukraine and Russia with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and U.S. President Donald Trump.

This was announced by RNSC Secretary Rustem Umerov after the negotiations concluded, reports "Suspilne".

The Ukrainian side also declared its readiness to cease fire, including stopping strikes on critical and civilian infrastructure.

"The Ukrainian delegation proposed to hold this meeting in August. Why? Because any day within this period coincides with the vision of our partners, particularly the USA, and the deadline set by President Trump for finding a solution," — said Umerov.

The key topic of the negotiations was also the humanitarian exchange of prisoners. According to Umerov, the Russian delegation agreed to return some Ukrainian citizens who have been in captivity for over three years, including severely wounded and young people. It is expected that over 1,200 prisoners will be returned to Ukraine as part of the upcoming exchange.

On July 23, a new round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia took place in Istanbul. The negotiations lasted less than an hour. The Ukrainian side raised the issue of a ceasefire, the release of prisoners, and the preparation of a leaders' meeting for a just peace.
