Ukraine and Norway have signed a declaration on defence partnership
This was announced by the Office of the President of Ukraine.
During a joint press conference, the parties stated that the agreements provide, in particular, for the development of joint projects in the production of weapons and unmanned systems.
The Norwegian Prime Minister emphasised that Ukraine remains a key priority of Norwegian foreign policy, and that the signed declaration is intended to cement the move towards a strategic partnership between the countries. According to him, Norway regards Ukraine as an important ally and is also gaining valuable combat experience that can be used to develop its own armed forces.
Zelenskyy announced that the parties had discussed the joint production of drones and had already initiated the relevant agreements. He said that Ukraine’s experience in countering Russian attacks, particularly those involving Shahed-type strike drones, is already being utilised by international partners in the Middle East, and that cooperation in this area will expand.
“We are ready to share everything with our partners – with Norway, the private sector and other countries. Today we are launching a drone agreement with Norway. Now our teams will work out the details. We have also focused on joint production projects – these are already underway and can be scaled up. Ukraine is grateful to Norway for its steadfast support in the energy sector – this was extremely important during the harsh winter of this war,” said the Head of the Ukrainian State.
