Among the released fighters are representatives of the Air Assault Forces, Air Force, and Navy, as well as soldiers from the Territorial Defense, National Guard, and State Border Service. They fought in the Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, and Sumy directions and defended Mariupol and the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
As Zelensky noted, most of those released had been in Russian captivity since 2022.
Additionally, as part of the exchange, 8 civilians returned to Ukraine, including journalists Dmytro Khilyuk and Mark Kaliyush, medic Serhiy Kovalov from the "Hospitallers" battalion, and former Kherson mayor Volodymyr Mykolayenko.
The Coordination Headquarters emphasized that those released from captivity will receive a full range of necessary medical assistance, including examinations and treatment. Moreover, each of them will receive payments from the state, undergo rehabilitation, and reintegration into society.
