In Ukraine, the drone interceptor Octopus has been put into serial production, designed to counter Russian attack drones "Shahed".

The Octopus drone-interceptor, designed to counter Russian "Shahed" attack drones, has been launched into serial production in Ukraine. The first manufacturers have already received the technology.

This was reported by thepublic.info citing a post by Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to Shmyhal, three manufacturers have received the necessary technology for producing Octopus drones. Another 11 manufacturers are preparing production lines for them.

"Octopus is a Ukrainian interception technology for Shahed drones, developed by the Armed Forces and proven in combat. It operates at night, under jamming, and at low altitudes," the minister reminded.

Shmyhal added that launching Octopus into serial production will allow the quickest deployment of interceptor drones to defend Ukrainian skies from Russian drones.

"The Ministry of Defense continues to implement an open interaction policy with Ukrainian manufacturers, creating conditions for a rapid transition from innovations to serial combat solutions that strengthen Ukraine's defense capability," the minister summarized.

It should be noted that Shmyhal previously promised to soon reach a level of 1,000 interceptor drones per day. He stated that this is Ukraine's response to nightly attacks by Russian invaders.

Octopus is a Ukrainian small drone interceptor designed to intercept and destroy disposable attack drones like "Shahed" and similar types. The system has already proven its effectiveness on the battlefield and has become the basis for an international industrial program for mass production.
