Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil infrastructure have reached a four-month high – Bloomberg
This is according to Bloomberg.
According to data compiled by Bloomberg based on public statements from both countries, Ukraine carried out at least 21 strikes in April against Russian oil refineries, maritime facilities – including export terminals – and oil pipeline infrastructure.
In April, there were at least nine strikes on Russian oil refining facilities, the highest monthly figure since the start of the year. According to estimates by the analytical firm OilX, this reduced the average output of Russian oil refineries to 4.69 million barrels per day, the lowest figure since December 2009.
The publication notes that the decline in crude oil processing rates is putting pressure on both the domestic market, where seasonal demand is rising, and global petroleum product markets, as Russia is a key exporter of diesel fuel.
This month, Ukraine has returned to its strategy of carrying out multiple attacks on individual Russian oil refineries. This approach maximises the damage inflicted on the targeted refineries, preventing rapid repairs.
It should be recalled that earlier, Anna Popova, head of Rospotrebnadzor, stated that there were no health risks for residents of the Russian city of Tuapse, where ‘oil rain’ fell following the damage to the oil refinery.
