Volodymyr Zelensky met with Donald Trump
The security guarantee decision for Ukraine will be made today, said Trump.
The decision on all issues, including security guarantees for Ukraine, will be made today, said U.S. President Donald Trump. His words are quoted by CNN and BBC.

Trump, in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders, emphasized that today, based on the negotiations, a resolution regarding security guarantees for Ukraine will be adopted. According to him, Russian leader Vladimir Putin will agree to security guarantees for Ukraine.

"I think today we will come to a resolution on almost everything, including, probably, security issues," - said Trump.

Furthermore, Trump stated that at the meeting with European leaders, they will decide who is responsible for what, and there may also be "territorial exchanges." The U.S. president also emphasized that he hopes for a tripartite meeting between the USA, Ukraine, and Russia "sooner than expected." Trump said he spoke directly with Putin today and will call him again after the negotiations.
Trump emphasized that he is optimistic about an agreement that will deter future aggression against Ukraine.

"I think European countries will bear a large part of the burden. We will help them," - underscored the U.S. president.

On August 18, Zelensky reported that he coordinated positions with leaders of Finland, the United Kingdom, Italy, the European Commission, and NATO Secretary General before the meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.

A large map of Ukraine was placed in the Oval Office opposite the Resolute Desk before closed-door negotiations between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported by BBC.

The publication writes that the large map of Ukraine was placed opposite the table where Trump and Zelensky sat, as soon as all journalists were asked to leave the office before the closed-door negotiations.
