Weather forecast for 23–24 May: which regions will get a break from the downpours, and where there will be thunderstorms
Weather forecast for the weekend of 23–24 May in Ukraine
The weather this weekend in Ukraine will be mixed. Some regions will finally get a break from the rain, whilst others will still experience thunderstorms and squalls.

This was reported on Telegram by weather forecaster Natalka Didenko.

Weather in Ukraine

On Saturday, 23 May, the influence of an anticyclone will spread to the west, north and parts of the central regions, so no precipitation is expected in these areas.

“However, across the rest of the country, an atmospheric front will continue to bring rain, with thunderstorms, possible squalls and hail,” Didenko said.

On Sunday, 24 May, rain will continue in the east and south-east of Ukraine, and by evening, new showers may reach Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr regions. Precipitation is unlikely in the rest of the country.

Daytime temperatures will range from +23 to +28 degrees, whilst the south-east will remain hot, with temperatures reaching +25 to +30 degrees.

The forecaster has also published a map showing the intensity of rainfall across Ukraine.

Weather in Kyiv

According to Didenko’s forecast, dry weather will finally prevail in the capital on 23–24 May.

"After today’s near-heatwave conditions, the air temperature will drop slightly and it will become cooler; temperatures of +21–23 degrees are expected during the daytime on Saturday and Sunday," she added.

Forecasters warn that after an unsettled May with thunderstorms and sharp temperature swings, a heatwave may hit Ukraine.
