Zelenskyy confirmed that the Defence Forces had struck an oil refinery in Yaroslavl
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that the Defence Forces carried out a strike on an oil refinery in Yaroslavl.
The head of state announced this on Telegram following a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian long-range drones were deployed against Russian oil refineries and export facilities.
“In particular, last night the Ukrainian Defence Forces carried out operations in the direction of the oil refinery in Yaroslavl. This is about 700 kilometres from our territory. We are bringing the war back home, to Russia, and this is entirely justified,” the President stated.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reported that the Defence Forces had struck specific targets in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
“We are also preparing other manifestations of our ‘long-range sanctions’ and mid-range strikes in response to Russian strikes on our cities and communities,” the head of state noted.
Earlier, Reuters reported that Lukoil’s oil refinery in Kstovo had partially suspended operations following a drone attack.
