Zelenskyy has arrived in Sweden for talks on the Gripen and a new aid package
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has arrived in Sweden on a working visit. The head of state announced this on Telegram.
According to Zelenskyy, the key topics of the visit will be the preparation of a major defence package for Ukraine and a decision regarding the Gripen fighter jets.
“We are preparing a major defence package for Ukraine and a significant step regarding the Gripen fighter jets, which will certainly make our combat aviation more effective,” the president noted.
Meetings with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson are scheduled during the visit. Representatives of the Swedish defence industry will also take part in the talks as part of the delegations.
Zelenskyy thanked the Swedish government and people for their support of Ukraine, their principled stance and cooperation.
“We are continuing and expanding our cooperation,” the head of state emphasised.
