The Russian occupiers in Crimea have decided not to hold a military parade or other mass events on 9 May. The so-called ‘head of Crimea’, Sergey Aksyonov, explained that this decision by the so-called authorities was dictated by security considerations.

This was announced by the so-called "head of Crimea", Sergey Aksyonov.

“There are no plans to hold a military parade or other mass events in the Republic of Crimea this year to mark Victory Day. Nor will there be an organised ‘Immortal Regiment’ march,” he said.

It should be recalled that at the end of April, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin held a conversation with US President Donald Trump, in which he stated that he was ready to establish a ceasefire with Ukraine on “Victory Day”.

In response, Ukraine stated that Moscow was seeking to safeguard its military parade, scheduled for 9 May.

On Monday, 4 May, the Ministry of Defence of the aggressor state reported that the Russian dictator had ordered a ceasefire on 8 and 9 May. They added that if Ukraine violated the ceasefire, the Russian Federation would launch a massive missile strike on the centre of Kyiv.

Yesterday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that human life is of greater value than the ‘celebration’ of any anniversary. He announced that Kyiv would declare a ceasefire from 00:00 on the night of 5 to 6 May.

Later, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga noted that the ceasefire announced by Zelenskyy from 5 to 6 May is a proposal to end the war. He remarked that this date will reveal what the aggressor country truly wants.

As a reminder, it was previously reported that the 9 May parade in Moscow would take place without military equipment due to the ‘operational situation’.
