Andriy Pyshny
Pyshnyy ensures the stability of the banking system during the war and is actively involved in drafting sanctions against the Russian financial sector.
The British publication The Banker named Pyshnyy the world’s best central bank governor based on the results for 2023.
Together with his wife Lyudmila, he founded the NGO ‘Vidchuy’, which helps people with hearing impairments, and initiated the creation of a sign language alphabet featuring famous Ukrainians.

Born on 26 October 1974 in the village of Dobrovody, Zbarazh District, Ternopil Region. 1991–1996 – studied at the Faculty of Law of Chernivtsi University. After graduating, from 1996 to 2000, he remained there as a trainee lecturer and assistant at the Department of Constitutional, Administrative and Financial Law. In May 2007, he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council. On 7 October 2022, Andriy Pyshnyy was elected Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine.
