This was reported by UNN, citing the ASTRA Telegram channel.
Local residents reported explosions
According to ASTRA, on the night of 16 May, residents of Nevinnomyssk heard a series of explosions. After analysing videos posted by eyewitnesses and the Exilenova+ Telegram channel, OSINT analysts concluded that the fire broke out on the premises of the Nevinnomyssk Azot plant. It is noted that the footage was filmed from 50 Years of October Square, approximately 2–2.5 kilometres from the plant.
The plant has been targeted on multiple occasions
“Nevinnomyssk Azot” is one of Russia’s largest chemical plants. The plant manufactures products which, according to open sources, are used, among other things, for the needs of the Russian military industry. ASTRA claims that this is at least the sixth attack on the plant since the start of the full-scale war. The plant was previously attacked in January and March 2026, as well as in July, August and December 2025. There is currently no official information on the extent of the damage or possible casualties.
