A sitting judge – the president of the Poltava District Court – has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for working for the FSB
This was reported by the SBU.
Law enforcement officials do not name the suspect in the press release, but it is clear from the context that they are referring to Larisa Bogomolova, the head of the Poltava District Court.
According to the investigation, at the start of the war, the suspect was working as a judge at the City and District Court in Berdiansk. During the occupation, she made contact with the FSB and passed on information to the Russians regarding the movements of three Azov soldiers from Mariupol to Mangush.
In addition, she advised the Russian supervisor on whom to appoint to positions and urged her colleagues to support the regime and cooperate with the Russians.
In the summer of 2022, according to the SBU, the suspect left Berdyansk and took up a post at the Poltava District Court. She was arrested in April 2023 at her workplace.
