The lawyer who attempted to bribe the head of the State Property Fund was declared legally incapacitated
The Higher Anti-Corruption Court declared lawyer Mykola Toporkov legally incapacitated, whom the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses of attempting to bribe former head of the State Property Fund Dmytro Senchenko.

Such decisions were made by the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC), reports «Slovoidilo».

«To change the applied preventive measure to (Toporkov – ed.) from bail to custody with guardianship, close relatives or family members with mandatory medical supervision.»

"To transfer (Toporkov – ed.) to the care of his son to ensure further medical supervision at the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise «Psychiatric Care Facility «Psychiatry» of the executive body of the Kyiv City Council (Kyiv City State Administration), for a period of 60 days», – the decision states.

The court also changed the procedure for the criminal proceedings and involved Toporkov's son in the consideration. He was involved to consider the issue of applying compulsory medical measures in the criminal proceeding.

Earlier, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) sent a case to court against a lawyer who attempted to bribe the head of the State Property Fund. According to the prosecution, the mentioned funds were offered to an official for appointment to leadership positions of two state enterprises of predetermined persons, as well as for extending the validity of a contract between one of these state enterprises and a commercial company.

In total, the defendant planned to provide $800,000 in illicit benefits. $200,000 of them were planned to be provided for the extension of the contract between a private enterprise and one of the joint-stock companies with a state share, which is under the jurisdiction of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, and another $600,000 – for appointment to leadership positions of two state enterprises.
