The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has ordered the freezing of the accounts of one of Ukraine’s largest pharmaceutical distributors. The company in question is Optima-Pharm.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has frozen the accounts of the pharmaceutical distributor Optima-Farm. This information is confirmed by data from the register of enforcement proceedings, as well as by sources in the pharmaceutical market.

Enforcement proceedings against the company were initiated on 22 April 2026. They were launched by the Enforcement Division of the State Enforcement Service.

The proceedings list three of the company’s accounts, held with the State Treasury Service, Ukreximbank and Oschadbank. According to market sources, these accounts are currently frozen.

The accounts of another major pharmaceutical distributor, "BaDM", also remain partially frozen. They were frozen in December 2025. As a result, the company was unable to pay its suppliers for some time. Currently, BaDM can receive funds from clients and use them, but the amount subject to seizure remains frozen.

According to market estimates, "BaDM" and "Optima-Pharm" account for around 80 per cent of pharmaceutical distribution in Ukraine.

In July 2025, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine imposed a fine of over 4 billion hryvnias on BaDM LLC and the joint venture Optima-Pharm, Ltd. for anti-competitive practices. According to the committee, between 2020 and 2023, the companies coordinated prices for a range of popular medicines, including “Spazmalgon”, “Eucazolin Aqua”, “Bifren” and others, thereby restricting competition.

Also, during the autumn of 2025, Optima-Pharm’s warehouses were shelled three times.
