In the Chernihiv district, a Russian drone attacked a checkpoint near the village of Novoselivka in the Kyselivska community. One soldier was killed in the strike, and there are also wounded among the military personnel and a police officer.

According to Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, the drone struck near a checkpoint. Following the strike, unidentified explosive devices dropped from the UAV began to detonate at the scene. Emergency services are currently at the scene.

“The UAV struck near a checkpoint in the village of Novoselivka. As a result of the strike, there is one fatality and several wounded among the military personnel; a police officer was also injured,” said Bryzhynskyi.

He later clarified in comments to journalists that, as of 16:00, five military personnel were known to have been injured. They were hospitalised at medical facilities in Chernihiv.

The police officer suffered an acoustic trauma (concussion).

It was previously reported that two soldiers were injured following a drone explosion near a checkpoint. The number of injured was subsequently clarified.

Also, in the afternoon of 15 March, the wreckage of a Russian drone fell onto a private plot on the outskirts of Chernihiv. No information regarding casualties in this incident has been received.
