The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that five of its citizens were killed during an attack on vessels in the Sea of Azov.

This was reported by the ministry, according to Reuters.

According to the ministry, two vessels carrying Azerbaijani nationals were attacked in the Taganrog Gulf. In total, there were 25 Azerbaijani nationals among the crews; five of them were killed and three were injured, the Foreign Ministry claims.

At the same time, they added that the vessels on which their citizens were travelling do not belong to Azerbaijan.

As a reminder, on the night of 5 June, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces struck five Russian vessels simultaneously in the ports of Mariupol and Berdiansk, as well as in the coastal waters of the occupied territories. These were cargo ships and tankers used by the Russians to illegally transport grain, fuel and military cargo from the occupied territories.
