The weather situation in Ukraine on 18 April is characterised by variable cloud cover and significant temperature differences between regions. Whilst temperatures in the south will rise to +11°C, the northern and eastern regions will see rainfall

This is according to data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre (UkrGMC).

Temperature conditions in the regions

According to readings at 6:00 am, the warmest weather was recorded in the southern and south-eastern regions. Specifically:

  • Mykolaiv and Odesa: +11°C;

  • Dnipro: +10.5°C;

  • Kryvyi Rih and Zaporizhzhia: +10°C;

  • Simferopol: +7.1°C.

The lowest temperatures are being observed in the western part of the country. In Lviv, thermometers have dropped to +0.1°C, and in Ivano-Frankivsk to +0.7°C. In the centre and north, temperatures range from +4.9°C (Chernihiv) to +5.8°C (Kyiv).

Precipitation and cloud cover

Forecasters predict rainy weather in the northern and eastern regions. Precipitation is expected in Sumy (+6.3°C), Kharkiv (+8.4°C) and Poltava (+6.2°C).

The rest of the country will see variable cloud cover. Sunny weather with no precipitation is forecast in Uzhhorod (+5.9°C) and Kropyvnytskyi (+5.3°C). In the capital and the Kyiv region, cloudy skies with sunny spells were recorded in the morning.
