Traffic accident involving Kadyrov's son without explanation from authorities: new details emerge
After the road accident involving Adam, the younger son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, on 16 January, more and more unofficial details are appearing in the media, while no official statements have been made by the Chechen authorities. The day after the accident, Ramzan Kadyrov published a video of a meeting with his son, but journalists determined that the footage was filmed before the accident, which only reinforced suspicions of attempts to conceal the real circumstances of the incident.
According to a representative of the Chechen opposition movement Niyso, the accident occurred in Grozny near the Safiya restaurant and banquet hall on Staropromyslovoye Shosse, not far from Vladimir Putin Avenue. The main version of the incident is that the driver lost control due to high speed and obstacles on the road: the cars in the motorcade began to collide with each other, and the car in which Adam Kadyrov was probably travelling was the first to crash into the guardrail, causing a chain reaction accident.
Eyewitnesses from the hospital in Grozny report that Adam's condition after the accident was extremely serious — in their words, he was "difficult to recognise". On the night after the accident, the victim was urgently transported by air ambulance to Moscow. It has been reported that several planes flew out of Grozny, including Kadyrov's private jet and a so-called "flying hospital," which may indicate the seriousness of his injuries.
At the same time, the publication Kavkaz. Realities, citing its own sources, reports pressure on medical workers at the republican emergency hospital, where Adam Kadyrov was first taken. According to journalists, security forces threatened doctors, forbade them from contacting journalists and opposition media, and on 17 January, police checked the mobile phones of both staff and patients at the hospital. It is also reported that the medical consultation on Kadyrov Jr.'s health was conducted without smartphones.
It is known that one person died in the accident involving the motorcade, four others were seriously injured, and a total of about 20 victims were taken to the hospital in Grozny. Information about Adam Kadyrov's condition remains contradictory: some sources claim that he has regained consciousness, while others say that he is in serious condition. Earlier, rumours circulated online that UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev had died in the accident, but he later refuted this information, stating that he was in Abu Dhabi.
