The CSD has denied claims of a “ground operation” by Lukashenko
This was reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation.
The Centre for Countering Disinformation has refuted reports circulating online regarding statements made by Alexander Lukashenko.
These are manipulative posts claiming that the self-proclaimed president of Belarus allegedly “called for preparations for a ground operation”.
The Centre emphasised that Lukashenko had not given any instructions regarding the preparation of any ground operation.
According to the Centre, in his statement he merely reflected on the need to change approaches to arming the Belarusian army and analysed the experience of other military conflicts, particularly in the Middle East.
The head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation, Defence Forces officer Andriy Kovalenko, stated that Belarus currently lacks the resources to carry out such operations.
“All that Belarus is doing right now is mimicking some kind of frenetic activity, including information campaigns. In fact, any aggressive actions would automatically be a mistake, leading to dire consequences for Belarus itself. Ukraine is monitoring the situation; our forces are ready for any turn of events,” he emphasised.
The CSD stressed that the dissemination of such reports constitutes manipulation that distorts the content of Lukashenko’s statement.
As reported by ThePublic, Lukashenko visited the DPRK for the first time and signed a “friendship and cooperation” agreement with Kim.
