Russia has attacked Zaporizhzhia with KAB bombs: one person has been killed and others have been injured

On the afternoon of 26 July, Russian forces carried out a strike on Zaporizhzhia using guided aerial bombs. A 46-year-old man was killed in the attack, and at least six other people were injured. A petrol station, some warehouses, a residential building and an educational establishment were also damaged.

This has been reported by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

What damage was caused by the strike

According to the investigation, the Russian shelling damaged a petrol station and storage facilities, and destroyed one car. The blast wave and debris also damaged a multi-storey residential block and an educational establishment.

As of 13:00, one person was reported dead and six injured. Law enforcement officials noted that the number of casualties is still being verified.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a criminal investigation

The Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor’s Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the commission of a war crime resulting in the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Regional Office.
