Estonia to allocate EUR 2 million for resilience of Ukraine's energy system
Estonia will provide Ukraine with €2 million to strengthen the resilience of the energy system. The funds will be allocated to the Energy Fund of Ukraine to restore infrastructure and ensure reliable energy supply, the Estonian Ministry of Climate said.
The ministry recalled that since 2022, Russian troops have carried out more than 1,000 targeted attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector, destroying power plants, substations and gas facilities. According to the Estonian side, it is impossible to cover peak loads in winter without international assistance.
The Minister of Energy and Environment of Estonia, Andres Sutt, stressed that support for Ukraine is long-term. According to him, every restored substation and every working generator means warmth in homes, operation of hospitals and stability of society.
The allocated €2 million will be used for the immediate needs of Ukrainian energy companies, including the purchase of spare parts, generators and fuel, as well as emergency repairs.
Estonia has previously transferred funds to the Energy Fund of Ukraine through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2023, 50 thousand euros were provided, in 2024 - 420 thousand euros, and Ukraine received another 150 thousand euros in October 2025. In total, international partners have already allocated €1.44 billion to the fund.
