From sweltering heat to sudden thunderstorms: what weather can Ukrainians expect this weekend, 6–7 June

What will the weather be like in Ukraine this weekend?
According to the expert, the weekend in Ukraine will be warm.
During the day, the average air temperature is expected to be around +22...+27 degrees Celsius.
It will be slightly cooler in the western part of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, temperatures will be higher – up to +29°C – in the south.
Tonight, air temperatures may range – depending on the region – from +13°C to +19°C.
Meanwhile, on 7 June, night-time temperatures across Ukraine may range from +12°C (in the west) to +20°C.
According to Didenko, short-lived showers are most likely over the weekend:
- in the western regions;
- in the northern regions;
- in the Vinnytsia region.
There may be thunderstorms in some places.
"In the rest of the country, there will be either no significant rainfall or just a few drops," the forecaster added.
The eastern part of Ukraine will remain the driest region on 6–7 June.
What to expect from the weather in Kyiv
In Kyiv, according to Didenko, it will be warmer on Saturday, 6 June. Up to +26°C.
On Sunday, 7 June, the capital will cool down to +23°C.
Intermittent rain is likely throughout both days of the weekend.
It is also worth noting that at night (based on the forecast for Kyiv from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre), the air temperature may be:
- 6 June – around +17°C;
- 7 June – around +18°C.
At the same time, on 7 June, the air temperature in the capital may drop as low as +19°C (although daytime temperatures will start to rise again later).
"A lovely, pleasant summer... We’re not complaining about the weather... You can never have too much summer," Didenko concluded.
As a reminder, we previously reported that in June, the average air temperature in Ukraine will exceed the long-term climatic norm by at least one and a half degrees.
