Helena Bonham Carter to appear in the fourth season of HBO's White Lotus
British actress Helena Bonham Carter will join the cast of the fourth season of HBO's satirical comedy-drama White Lotus. This was announced on the series' official social media pages.
Along with Bonham Carter, British actor and comedian Steve Coogan, American actor Chris Messina, and model Marissa Long will also appear in the new season. Details about their roles have not yet been disclosed.
As in previous seasons, the events will unfold in a new country — this time in France. Filming is planned to take place in Paris, Cannes, on the French Riviera, and at the luxurious Château de La Messardière hotel in Saint-Tropez. Other possible locations include the historic five-star hotels Le Lutetia and Ritz Paris, where Charlie Chaplin, Coco Chanel and Ernest Hemingway stayed in different years.
Series creator Mike White previously noted that the new season will move away from seascapes, but added that there is always room for another mysterious death at the White Lotus hotels.
At the same time, it became known that composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, who wrote the music for the first three seasons, will not be working on the sequel due to a conflict with Mike White.
The premiere date for the fourth season of White Lotus has not yet been announced.
The White Lotus is an anthology series about the guests and staff of a fictional chain of luxury resorts. Each season has a separate story and a new location: the first was filmed in Hawaii, the second in Sicily, and the third in Thailand.
The first season received 20 Emmy nominations and won 10 awards, while the second was nominated for 23 Emmys and won five statuettes. In February 2024, Serbian actor Milos Bikovich, who has Russian citizenship, was removed from the cast of the series following public outcry.
