In Sumy, more than 12 kilometres of roads have already been protected by anti-drone nets
On the outskirts of Sumy, 12.5 kilometres of anti-drone netting have already been installed. The protective structures have been erected along the roads, and installation work is ongoing. This was announced by Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
According to him, the installation of such structures is one of the measures being taken to counter FPV drones, which Russian troops have been using increasingly frequently in recent months to attack Sumy. Since May, 69 such attacks have been recorded, 48 of which were carried out using drones guided by fibre-optic cables.
Oleg Grigorov noted that the region maintains constant contact with the military command, the Air Force and other components of Ukraine’s Security and Defence Forces, and is raising the issue of meeting the region’s needs at all levels.
In addition, the region has analysed the flight paths of enemy drones and stepped up efforts to detect and destroy them.
Earlier, the Sumy City Military Administration reported that it plans to cover a total of 21 kilometres of roads with anti-drone nets.
