The Cabinet of Ministers has begun paying 20,000 hryvnia to critical infrastructure workers
The government has begun paying 20,000 hryvnia to critical infrastructure workers involved in dealing with the aftermath of Russian shelling. This was announced on Facebook by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, the first funds have already been received by repair crews — energy workers, gas, water supply and drainage specialists, utility services and railway workers. In total, this involves more than 12,300 specialists who are working in difficult conditions and under intense pressure to restore electricity, heat and water supplies to the population.
UAH 246.4 million has been allocated from the state budget reserve fund to implement the programme.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported in a telegram that payments are already being made to 4,725 employees of heat and water supply companies, including 1,057 railway workers.
She also said that Oschadbank had transferred funds to energy companies for 12,500 repair workers in January. The companies are to pay an additional 20,000 hryvnias directly into the bank accounts of employees who are carrying out emergency repair work after the attacks.
The head of government added that similar payments are also planned for February and March.
