This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the night of 7 May 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces carried out strikes on a number of key military targets belonging to the Russian occupiers.

One of the targets was the Project 22800 “Karakurt” multi-purpose small missile ship. It was struck in the vicinity of its base in Kaspiysk, in the Republic of Dagestan, Russian Federation.

According to the General Staff, the “Karakurt” is capable of launching “Kalibr” cruise missiles. The extent of the damage to the vessel is currently being assessed.

What is known about the “Karakurt”

The “Karakurt” is a Russian Project 22800 small missile ship. Such ships are designed for operations in the near-sea zone and are classified as guided missile carriers.
