China showcased a new intercontinental missile at the military parade

The missile was shown publicly for the first time – it was taken to Tiananmen Square in Beijing on an eight-wheeled mobile platform along with the air-launched ballistic missile JL-1 and the submarine-launched ballistic missile JL-3 with intercontinental range, as well as with a new version of the land-based missile DF-31.
According to China's state news agency Xinhua, Beijing has for the first time demonstrated a "nuclear triad," which is a "strategic trump card" in defending national sovereignty and upholding national dignity.
