Medvedev threatens Europe following drone incident in Romania
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, has commented on the incident involving a drone that crashed into a residential building in the Romanian city of Galați during the Russian attack on Ukraine. The Russian politician made his statement after NATO condemned Russia’s actions and Romania announced the closure of the Russian Consulate General in Constanta and the expulsion of a Russian diplomat.
Medvedev issued threats against Europe
Medvedev stated that European countries should be prepared for further incidents involving drones.
“Let them get ready: this will continue,” he said.
The Russian official also claimed that European Union countries are allegedly directly involved in the war against Russia through their support for Ukraine. Medvedev specifically mentioned factories producing drones and components for Ukraine, stating that such facilities could remain a focus of Russian attention.
The Kremlin has reacted to Romania’s decision
Earlier, Russian state media reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been informed of the incident in Romania. At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced its intention to respond to Bucharest’s decision to close the Russian Consulate General in Constanța.
As a reminder, The Public previously reported that following a drone strike on a residential building in Galați, the Romanian authorities decided to close the Russian consulate and expel one of its diplomats. Romanian President Nicușor Dan blamed Russia for the incident.
