The US has refused to join Israel’s strikes against Iran
This was reported by the Saudi TV channel Al Hadath, citing an unnamed Israeli official.
What Israel has said
According to the channel’s source, Israel is prepared to repel potential attacks not only from Iran but also from groups affiliated with it. At the same time, he claims that in the event of a large-scale attack, Israel would most likely go to war, although, he says, the United States does not support such a scenario.
Statements on the situation in Iran
The official also stated that, according to Israeli assessments, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has allegedly been effectively sidelined from governing the country and plays a largely nominal role. He also claims that the Supreme Leader’s public statements are allegedly drafted on the instructions of Ahmad Vahidi, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Furthermore, Al Hadath’s source spoke of alleged serious divisions within the Iranian leadership. According to him, the Iranian security services had also planned assassination attempts on senior Israeli officials in response to the possible elimination of Iran’s Supreme Leader.
