Since the end of January, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been conducting a successful offensive operation in the Oleksandrivka sector. During this time, they have managed to regain control of 480 square kilometres of Ukrainian territory

This was announced by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi

Successes in the Oleksandrivka sector

During active operations, 12 settlements were liberated:

  • 8 villages in the Dnipropetrovsk region;

  • 4 villages in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Commander-in-Chief held a meeting with Major General Oleg Apostol, discussing methods to improve the effectiveness of assault operations and countering the enemy. In the past week alone, 64 attacks by the occupiers have been recorded here.

Threat to the Dnipropetrovsk region Despite significant losses, Russian troops are preparing to regroup.

“The invaders’ aim is to seize more territory and create a so-called ‘buffer zone’ in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Meanwhile, our soldiers are holding their defences steadfastly and inflicting significant losses on the enemy,” Syrskyi emphasised.

The Pokrovsk direction and reinforcements for the Airborne Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi also visited the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Forces. Following a briefing by Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiychuk, a decision was taken to immediately provide additional supplies to the units:

  • ammunition;

  • logistical resources;

  • means to boost firepower in the Donetsk region.

“I thank every soldier for their professionalism and bravery. We are working side by side for victory. Glory to Ukraine!” — concluded the Commander-in-Chief.
