The marine drone found in Greece turned out not to be a Magura — Uforce
Uforce, the manufacturer of these drones, informed "Military" of this.
The company emphasised that the maritime drone found off the coast of Greece cannot be one of their products. Despite the visual similarity, its design, construction and apparent technical specifications do not match those of the Magura.
Furthermore, Uforce stressed that the Magura V3 model does not exist at all, as the company has never produced such a version of the drone.
What happened
As a reminder, on 8 May, an unmanned maritime vehicle was discovered in the Ionian Sea, near the southern part of the island of Lefkada. Greek authorities reported that it had been identified as a Ukrainian Magura V3 maritime drone.
The incident prompted an immediate response from several agencies, including the Greek Ministry of National Defence and specialist units responsible for the disposal of explosive ordnance.
The Greek Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, described the incident as an “extremely serious issue” and emphasised that the presence of such a drone poses risks to the safety of shipping in the Mediterranean Sea.
It should be noted that new images of the Ukrainian Magura V7 unmanned surface vessel, which belongs to the class of unmanned maritime platforms, have been published online. A distinctive feature of this model is its claimed ability to engage aerial targets whilst on the water.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian Book of Records has officially recorded five combat records achieved by Ukrainian military intelligence through the use of the Magura family of naval drones.
