In Volyn, a Belarusian KGB agent was detained
This was reported by the SBU press service.
The counterintelligence uncovered the malicious actor in Volyn. He turned out to be a 24-year-old local resident who, according to investigators, was seeking a "easy income" through Telegram channels and agreed to cooperate with representatives of Belarusian special services.
Under the orders of the KGB, he recorded the locations of checkpoints, fortifications of the Defense Forces, and also tried to identify military echelons on the rails and transit stations. He used messaging apps with anonymous communication and transmitted geolocation data via Google Maps.
The law enforcement documented his actions, conducted a search, and seized a phone with evidence. The identity of the supervisor from the Belarusian special service side has been established. After the suspect was exposed, additional security measures were strengthened at military facilities and logistical routes.
