A border guard was found dead in Volyn
It concerns a 36-year-old military officer of the State Border Guard Service, the chief sergeant of the Lutsk border detachment, who was found dead in a village.

This is mentioned in the statement of the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.

The agency noted that a serviceman who was on duty at the state border died. His body, with standard-issue weapon in hand, was found around 11:00 in the village of Rivne. At the scene, DBR investigators, together with the National Police, examined the site, interviewed witnesses, and seized possible evidence. A forensic examination and weapon analysis have also been scheduled.

"The incident is preliminarily classified under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (deliberate murder). Currently, investigators are checking all versions, including the possibility of suicide. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing," - reported the DBR.

The incident was first reported by the channel Avers. According to their information, it concerns a 36-year-old chief sergeant, assistant head of the logistics department of the Lutsk border detachment. Channel sources claim that the serviceman may have taken his own life.
