Attack in Kyiv school classified as attempted murder
In Kyiv, yesterday morning, a tragic event took place at school, as a result of which an underage ninth-grade student attacked his class teacher and a classmate. The incident took place in the school's sanitary facilities, where the boy put on a mask and helmet and then broke into the classroom with a knife.
The 39-year-old teacher and 14-year-old student were hospitalised as a result of the injuries. Doctors recorded serious injuries: the boy had multiple cut wounds on his back and forearm, and the teacher had stab wounds to her arms and abdomen. Experts are now determining the severity of their condition.
After committing the crime, the attacker locks himself in the bathroom, where he inflicts self-harm. The 14-year-old is currently in hospital receiving medical treatment.
The Investigation Department of the Obolon Police Department has opened a criminal investigation under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - attempted murder of two or more people. As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers are trying to find out the causes of the crime, and during a search of the suspect's phone, they found correspondence with possible enemy agents. The investigation is ongoing.
