New rules on travel have come into force for women in Ukraine
From 20 May, all women in Ukraine are free to cross the state border – the government has lifted the final restrictions that applied to civil servants and judges.
This has been reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The State Border Guard Service explained that amendments to the Rules for Crossing the State Border, approved by Government Resolution No. 57, have come into force as of today.
In particular, by Resolution No. 623 of 15 May 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers has lifted restrictions on women travelling abroad on the basis of decisions regarding business trips.
Now, all women may cross the state border without exception, regardless of:
- positions held in state authorities;
- work in local government bodies;
- employment at state-owned enterprises;
- employment in the courts.
The State Border Guard Service has also reported that border guards are already applying the new rule during checks at border crossing points.
