New Russian 'Pryanik'-type anti-personnel mines have been discovered in the Kherson region
Russian ‘Pryanik’ anti-personnel mines, also known as ‘Plyushka’, have been discovered on Belyaeva Street in the village of Molodizhne, in the Kherson community.
The Kherson regional police reported the mining. Law enforcement officers urged local residents not to move around the specified area, as the mined area may be larger.
The police emphasised that reports of minefields are coming in, and that the discovered munitions pose a deadly danger to the civilian population.
The ‘Pryanik’ mine is a new Russian anti-personnel mine. According to law enforcement, such munitions have a diameter of around 5–6 centimetres and are approximately half the size of the ‘Pelyustka’ mine.
Due to their small size, they are difficult to spot on the road or in the grass. At the same time, the mine contains around 30 grams of plastic explosive.
Residents of the community have been urged to exercise the utmost caution and to stay away from potentially dangerous areas.
