Night drone attack on Odesa region causes damage to homes and infrastructure

One person was injured as a result of the drone strikes. Rescuers extinguished the fires and are assessing the damage caused by the shelling.

On the night of 19 January, Russian troops carried out an attack with strike drones on the territory of the Odesa region. As a result of the strikes, damage to residential buildings and critical infrastructure was recorded, and there were injuries.

This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration. According to him, one of the drones hit a multi-storey residential building in the Odesa district. As a result of the strike, two apartments and the facade of the building were damaged, windows were broken, and several private cars parked nearby were destroyed.

In addition to residential buildings, the shelling caused damage to energy and gas infrastructure facilities. Emergency and utility services are working on site, and the aftermath of the attack is being cleared up and the extent of the damage is being assessed.

The State Emergency Service (SES) specified that one person was injured as a result of the night attack. All fires that broke out after the Russian drones hit were quickly extinguished by rescuers. There are also reports of broken windows in neighbouring buildings and damage to several cars.
