“MasterChef” judge Olga Martynovska found herself at the centre of a scandal following an interview with Masha Efrosinina, in which she spoke of the cruel treatment of cats during her childhood. Vladimir Ostapchuk’s wife, Katerina, reacted strongly to the situation.

Olga Martynovskaya, a judge on the cooking show “MasterChef”, found herself at the centre of a scandal following an interview with Masha Efrosinina.

During the conversation, the chef recalled childhood stories involving the cruel treatment of cats. Following this, social media users criticised not only Martynovska but also Yefrosinina, who was laughing during this part of the interview.

What Olga Martynovska said

In the interview, Martynovska said that as a child she used to throw cats off the roof and tie firecrackers to their tails.

It was this particular clip that sparked a wave of outrage online. Users argued that stories of animal cruelty should not be presented as innocent memories or jokes.

Following the criticism, Masha Yefrosinina apologised for her reaction and removed the controversial clip from YouTube.

How Kateryna Ostapchuk reacted

Kateryna, the wife of TV presenter Volodymyr Ostapchuk, spoke out strongly about the situation.

She was outraged that Yefrosinina, according to Ostapchuk, did not react to Martynovska’s account as harshly as she had previously reacted to other public scandals.

Kateryna drew a parallel with the “10 out of 10” scandal, which previously involved Volodymyr Ostapchuk, Positiff and Bohdan Bushe. At the time, they were criticised for a conversation about women’s appearance.

What Ostapchuk accused Yefrosinina of

Kateryna Ostapchuk stated that she considers Yefrosinina’s behaviour hypocritical.

“In Masha’s opinion, throwing cats off the roof and tying firecrackers to their tails isn’t as bad as saying you don’t like unshaven armpits,” wrote Ostapchuk, recalling the previous scandal involving her husband.

She also stated that even after her apology, Efrosinina, in her opinion, shifted the focus onto the interviewee but failed to adequately assess her own reaction during the conversation.

Separately, Kateryna Ostapchuk recalled an old story involving her husband and Yefrosinina.

According to her, at a social event some time ago, Yefrosinina made a sharp remark to Volodymyr Ostapchuk because of his call to support the evening with applause.

Kateryna also claims that the presenter’s attitude towards Ostapchuk changed after the casting for the ‘Eurovision’ hosts, where the organisers chose him specifically.

These statements represent Kateryna Ostapchuk’s personal view. At the time of publication, there had been no public response from Yefrosinina specifically addressing these allegations.

Why the scandal gained traction

The situation caused a stir due to the issue of animal cruelty.

Social media users focused not only on Martynovska’s account itself, but also on Yefrosinina’s behaviour as an interviewer. She was criticised for failing to stop the conversation and for responding with laughter.

Afterwards, Yefrosinina apologised and deleted part of the interview, but the discussion on social media continued.
