According to media reports, the driver in Angelina Jolie's convoy, who was stopped on November 5 by employees of the Mykolaiv TCC and SP, was 33-year-old Dmytro from Kropyvnytskyi — a combat sambo coach.

In Mykolaiv region, employees of the local Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSC) on November 5 stopped one of the drivers of the convoy of American actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie. He turned out to be a 33-year-old combat sambo coach from Kropyvnytskyi named Dmytro.

His brother, Yevhen Pishchykov, told Suspilne that Dmytro did not serve in the army, but ten years ago graduated from the military department at the flight academy.

«He is not Angelina Jolie's bodyguard. He is from a social organization, he is like an escort — to show, tell, how a volunteer traveled with her. He is not Angelina Jolie's bodyguard. He is not wanted. He has a spinal condition that prevents him from returning. His latest MRI is valid until 2025. All documents and volunteer ID were with him. He is fit for service in the TRSC and rear support units.»

According to Dmytro's girlfriend, Yulia Loticzka, he is currently not in contact — his phone is turned off. She went to Mykolaiv region to clarify the circumstances of his detention.

«He called me yesterday, closer to the evening. I had written him several messages before that, he did not respond. Then I decided to call him, but his phone was off. After a while, he called back and told me that he was in the Mykolaiv region, in Voznesensk, at the TRSC. He was detained — he was moving along with the convoy. He was offered to be in Angelina Jolie's escort, and he agreed.»

The command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the man is a reserve officer, regarding whom questions arose concerning military registration documents. He was summoned to the Southern Ukrainian TRSC for clarification of his status.

Representatives of the Mykolaiv TRSC confirmed the fact of the check and stated that «everything happened in accordance with current legislation».

The purpose of Angelina Jolie's visit to Ukraine has not been officially disclosed. It is known that the actress was in the southern part of the country on a humanitarian mission: photos from her visit to Kherson, where she visited medical facilities and met with children, have been published on social networks.
