The Pentagon has announced that its website containing UFO files has received 500 million views
The Pentagon has stated that a dedicated website containing declassified material on unidentified aerial phenomena and unidentified flying objects has been viewed nearly 500 million times in the last 24 hours, according to DW.
This was announced by US Department of Defence spokesperson Sean Parnell.
“In the 24 hours since the site went live, it has been visited nearly 500 million times. An unprecedented level of interest. An unprecedented level of transparency from President Trump’s administration,” said Parnell.
In February 2026, US President Donald Trump ordered the release of documents relating to unidentified aerial phenomena and UFOs. He explained his decision by citing significant public interest in the subject.
On 8 May, the US Department of Defence began publishing materials on a special Pentagon website. The department stated that, due to the lack of definitive conclusions regarding the recorded phenomena, the public and experts are being encouraged to conduct their “own analysis”.
The Pentagon also described the creation of the archive as an “unprecedented historical initiative” and announced that new materials would be published every few weeks following their discovery and declassification.
The White House, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the US Department of Energy, the Pentagon’s Office of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, NASA, the FBI and other US intelligence agencies are involved in the publication of the documents.
On 9 May, 161 files related to UFOs were published on the Pentagon’s website. The materials include photographs, PDF documents and video recordings.
Some of the videos were filmed in recent years, and at least one of the clips is dated January 2026.
