Pepco is set to open its first shops in Ukraine: four cities have been named
This has been reported by the Ukrainian Retailers Association, citing Pepco.
The company has confirmed that it will enter the Ukrainian market in the second half of 2026. Previously, the chain’s press office had specified that the first opening was planned for the end of October.
The first cities where Pepco will operate will be Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Mukachevo and Ternopil. The specific addresses of the stores and the exact dates of their opening have not yet been announced.
Ukraine will become the 20th market in which the Polish chain will operate. When selecting the first cities, the company took into account local conditions, consumer demand and the ability to ensure the safe operation of the shops.
Arsen Starchenko, head of Pepco Ukraine, said that the company is preparing its premises and adapting its operational processes to Ukrainian conditions. The chain plans to sell clothing for adults and children, homewares, toys and seasonal products.
Pepco is already recruiting staff
Alongside preparing the shops, the company has begun recruiting staff in Ukraine. Vacancies are being advertised on Ukrainian job search websites, and candidates can also submit their CVs via a dedicated Pepco application form.
The company has stated that it will expand its Ukrainian team gradually — in line with the pace of opening new retail outlets.
As part of its strategy, Pepco also plans to increase the proportion of women in management roles to 40 per cent by 2030. Staff are promised access to internal platforms for feedback and suggestions.
What will be sold in Pepco stores
The core of the product range will consist of affordable clothing and everyday items. Approximately 30 per cent of the range will be homeware, 25 per cent children’s clothing, and 21 per cent adult clothing.
The remainder of the range will consist of toys, seasonal offers and other family goods. The shop format is designed primarily for everyday shopping close to residential areas.
According to the 2025 Pepco Shopper Study, 87 per cent of the chain’s shoppers in European countries are women. 67 per cent of customers have children under the age of 12, which is why a significant proportion of the product range is tailored specifically for families.
What is known about the Pepco chain
Pepco specialises in selling clothing, household goods and toys in the affordable price segment. The chain has over 4,000 stores across 19 countries.
The company employs over 32,000 people, and its shops are visited by around 36 million customers every month. Following its launch in Ukraine, Pepco plans to gradually expand its presence, although the list of cities to be targeted next has not yet been announced.
