A suspicion of arson of the district Military Recruitment and Social Service (TCC and SP) building in Kharkiv has been reported against a 29-year-old previously convicted resident of the regional center. This is reported by the Communications Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region.

The penalty under the article provides for imprisonment for up to ten years.

According to investigators, on June 11, the man was invited to the district TCC and SP building to verify military registration documents. While inside the institution, he took advantage of a moment when the staff were not monitoring his actions, locked himself in one of the rooms, and with a lighter set fire to the fabric present. After that, he took advantage of the commotion and escaped through a second-floor window.

Earlier reports indicated that in the Novobavarsky district of Kharkiv, the building of the territorial recruitment center (TCC) caught fire on the evening of June 11.
