After Tymoshenko's suspicion was announced, MP left the Batkivshchyna faction
People's Deputy Lyudmyla Buymister has left the Batkivshchyna faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This information was announced at the end of the plenary session on Wednesday, 14 January, by the First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament, Oleksandr Kornienko.
According to him, the MP's withdrawal from the faction took place on the basis of a personal statement and in accordance with the requirements of part three of Article 60 of the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The decision was formalised in accordance with the procedure established by law.
Ludmyla Buymister's statement on leaving the faction comes amid reports that the head of the Batkivshchyna faction, Yulia Tymoshenko, has been served with a notice of suspicion.
It is known that Buimister was elected to the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party, but in 2021 she was expelled from this faction. In July 2025, the MP joined the Batkivshchyna faction, where she was a member for less than six months.
