North Korea has tested a cluster ballistic missile and a thermonuclear bomb
This was reported by the country’s state media, KCNA.
On 8 April, South Korea reported that ballistic missiles had been launched from North Korea into the Sea of Japan.
The DPRK claims that the tested Hwasongpho-11 Ka surface-to-surface ballistic missile is capable of ‘reducing any target to ashes’ over an area of up to 7 hectares.
Carbon bombs are munitions filled with graphite fibres, which are excellent conductors of electricity. By exploding in the air and scattering the fibres, they are capable of destroying infrastructure such as power stations. Kim Jong-sik, the general who oversaw the tests, stated that carbon bombs and electromagnetic weapons are special strategic assets of the North Korean army.
