In the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, a prosecutor's employee hit a woman in a pedestrian zone and fled the scene. He was detained.

About this, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko reported and stated that he is taking the case under his control.

Kravchenko clarified that the person driving was Andriy Andriyovych Molochny, the chief specialist of the department. Andriy Molochny is a civil servant – not a prosecutor, but an employee of the prosecutor's office. The Prosecutor General clarified that the employee committed a hit-and-run on a pedestrian in the pedestrian zone on Velyka Vasylkivska Street; after hitting the woman, he fled the scene. However, he has now been detained.

The victim is receiving necessary medical assistance.

"This is shocking. I reiterate: belonging to the prosecutor's office is not an indulgence, it is a responsibility. I am taking this case under my control. And, as the Prosecutor General, I will represent the interests of the victim in court. Such behavior is a shame for the entire system. It must be severely punished. And I promise, it will be. Law and Justice are the same for everyone," – stated the prosecutor.

The Prosecutor General apologized for "this shameful act of a prosecutor's employee."

15:00 (updated): The woman who was hit in Kyiv by the drunk prosecutor employee Andriy Molochny has died in the hospital. This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

«Unfortunately, the victim died in the hospital. My sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased», – the message states.

According to Kravchenko, Andriy Molochny has already been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic rules while intoxicated, which resulted in a person's death. The test result was 1.77 per mille.
