Russia declared "goals achieved" after massive strike on Ukraine

The Russian Ministry of Defence commented on the night attack on Ukraine, stating that the tasks set had been successfully completed.

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation announced that it had allegedly "achieved its objectives" during a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine, which took place on the night of 7 March.

This was reported by Russian media with reference to the Russian defence ministry.

The Russian Ministry of Defence claims that the strikes were allegedly carried out with "high-precision weapons" and that the attack itself was a "response" to Ukraine's actions.

The Russian ministry also stated that the strikes were allegedly aimed at energy infrastructure facilities and enterprises of Ukraine's defence-industrial complex.

The Russian ministry's statement does not mention the consequences of the attacks for civilian infrastructure and the population.
