Russia has launched a massive attack on regions of Ukraine using drones and artillery; there are casualties

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have launched attacks on several regions of Ukraine. The regions of Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Donetsk and Sumy have come under fire.

Zaporizhzhia Region

Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that over the past 24 hours, Russian forces had carried out 973 strikes on 49 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.

One person was killed as a result of the attacks in the Zaporizhzhia district. There were also 58 reports of damage to residential buildings, vehicles and infrastructure.

Kharkiv

On the night of 14 May, Russian drones attacked the Osnovyanskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts of Kharkiv.

Oleg Synyegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that in the Osnovyanskyi district, three cars in a garage cooperative were damaged after being hit by a drone.

In the Kholodnohirskyi district, the windows of a residential building were damaged. According to regional authorities, there were no casualties.

Odesa region

Oleg Kipper, Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, reported that on the night of 14 May, Russian forces launched a massive attack on the Odesa region using strike drones.

Two people were injured as a result of the attack. 

Port infrastructure facilities were hit. Following two waves of attacks, equipment, property and freight transport were damaged.

Fires that broke out following the shelling were extinguished by emergency services. Specialist services are working at the scene, and efforts to deal with the aftermath of the attack are ongoing.

Ivano-Frankivsk

In Ivano-Frankivsk, the number of casualties from the Russian attack has risen to ten.

Svitlana Onyshchuk, head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration, reported that two teenagers were among the casualties.

Four people have been hospitalised.

Ruslan Martsinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, said that four families have been temporarily accommodated in a hotel following a Russian drone strike on a high-rise building.

A mobile administrative service centre is also operating in the city. Thirty-six claims have already been received from those affected, including 14 claims for damaged property to be compensated from the city budget.

The attack damaged a multi-storey residential block, an administrative building and nearby structures.

Two residential buildings and one farm building in the Nadvirna and Bukachiv communities were damaged by falling debris.

Donetsk region

Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, reported that on 13 May, Russian troops killed two residents of the Donetsk region.

Two people were killed in Druzhkivka. One person was also wounded in Druzhkivka, and another was injured in Bilenke.

Sumy region

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that over the past 24 hours, Russian troops had carried out more than 40 strikes on 23 settlements across 14 territorial communities in the region.

In the Hlukhiv community, a 54-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were injured as a result of a Russian drone attack.

Seven people were also evacuated from border communities in the Sumy region over the past 24 hours.
